Since over the years, the tone and the touch of the grand piano had deteriorated, the Theatre of Rotterdam asked me to bring it back into top condition.After I had the case of the Steinway sprayed black polyester, it was time to tackle the stringing and mechanics.With a colleague I took the iron frame apart, measured the stringpressure on the soundboard, revelted the frame and renew the strings. Of the mechanic, I replaced the shanks with glued Steinway hammerheads.In addition, I perfectly adjusted and tuned the mechanics. After a few tunings, the grand was brought back into service in the main hall of the Theatre of Rotterdam.
